Our 1st Event
Durante Park

Our first event will be held at Joan M. Durante Park on April 28th from 9 till 2.

We have partnered with Around The Bend Nature Tours to offer the Field, Forrest, Lagoon program to 50 local children from the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. This program offers tours with 3 specialists as well as games to better understand the environment.

After the tours, Take A Child Outdoors will prepare lunch for the children before they leave.  This will be an exciting and very educational day for all who attend!
How Can You Help

1. We are currently looking for a camera donation for our photo contest from a corporate sponsor. Do you know anyone that might be able to help us?

2. Use the "Forward Email" link at the bottom of this page to send this newsletter to someone else that might be interested in Take A Child Outdoors.

WOW... It has been a very busy month at Take A Child Outdoors and we have some great news!

We have received our blessing from the IRS and we are now a 501(c)(3) non-profit. This is a major step for us as we can now apply for most grants and contributions made to us are tax deductible (more below).

We are a 501(c)(3)
After a 5 month trial with the IRS we have received our non-profit status as a 501(c)(3). This means that we are exempt from federal income tax, and contributions made to us are tax deductible.

This also opens many more grant opportunities for us and makes it easier when asking for prize donations from large corporations.

You can read more about the 501(c)(3) status here.
